The Bucks have signed rookie forward Yi Jianlian to a multi year contract. Jianlian will have his work cut out for him as he will have to compete with Charlie Villanueva for the starting power forward job. Jianlian also will have to smooth some things over with Bucks fans as he made it clear before and after the draft that he wanted no part of playing for Milwaukee.

The Bucks select point guard Ramon Sessions in the 2nd round

With all of the Bucks’ point guards from last season being free agents the Bucks decided to select Ramon Sessions in the 2nd round with the #56 pick overall in the NBA Draft. The 6′3″, 190 point guard from Nevada is a fallback option as he projects as a backup in the pros. He played in 97 games at Nevada and he averaged 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He also isn’t a great shooter as he’s hit 41.7% from the floor, 31.3% from three point range and 74% from the free throw line.

The Milwaukee Bucks selected Yi Jianlian in the first round

The Bucks selected power forward Yi Jianlian in the first round despite his representation telling them he didn’t want to play in Milwaukee. It will be interesting to see if Yi Jianlian shows up in Milwaukee or forces the Bucks to make a move. The 6′11″, 238 pound forward from China has big-time skills and he would likely team up with Andrew Bogut on the front line and make the Bucks a pretty decent team. He played in 172 games in China and he averaged 18.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Most of his shots come from close range as he made 57% of his shots from the floor, 23.2% from three point range and 78.3% from the free throw line. The Bucks really need Yi Jianlian so hope for the best Bucks fans.
