The Milwaukee Bucks lose Michael Redd for the year

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Bucks News, Injuries, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 11 January 2010 at 6:20 pm

The Bucks have lost 30-year old shooting guard Michael Redd for the year due to a torn left ACL+MCL. Redd played in 18 games (12 starts) for the Bucks this season and he averaged 27.3 minutes, 11.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals. Redd never seemed really right this season as he only shot 35.2% form the floor this year. Redd’s career could be in jeopardy due to this injury and that is a shame because he is such a talented basketball player. Redd has played in 568 games (427 starts) so far in his NBA career and he is averaging 33.8 minutes, 20.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The bottom line is that the Bucks will miss Michael Redd a lot the rest of the year.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose Andrew Bogut for a while

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Bucks News, Injuries, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 20 November 2009 at 4:28 pm

The Bucks will be without starting center Andrew Bogut for the next 2-4 weeks due to a strained left leg and a contusion. He has played in 9 games (all starts) for the Bucks so far this season and he has averaged 33.6 minutes, 16.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game. The Bucks will miss Bogut big time as he is the second best offensive player on the team right now with Michael Redd also hurting. Dan Gazduric will replace Bogut in the starting lineup. Gazduric has played in 9 games (0 starts) this season for the Bucks and he is averaging 9.8 minutes, 2.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. Kurt Thomas will also see a bump in playing time behind Gazduric. Thomas has played in 5 games (2 starts) so far this year for the Bucks and he is averaging 6.8 minutes, 1.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game this season. The Bucks had better hope that Bogut gets healthy soon or they are going to start losing a lot of basketball games.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose Michael Redd for a while

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Bucks News, Injuries, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 2 November 2009 at 4:28 pm

The Bucks will be without Michael Redd for the next two weeks due to pain in his surgically repaired left knee. Redd has played in 2 games for the Bucks this season and he has averaged 31.0 minutes, 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Charlie Bell, Carlos Delfino and rookie Jodie Meeks will all likely see increased playing time while Redd is out of action. Bell has played in 2 games (0 starts) this season for the Bucks and he has averaged 28.0 minutes, 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Carlos Delfino has played in 1 game this season for the Bucks and he worked 20 minutes scoring 5 points, grabbing 3 rebounds and he had 1 assist. Meeks has not played yet this season for the Bucks. Losing Redd is a major blow to the Bucks that they won’t be able to recover from. They better hope his knee responds to rest.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose forward Joe Alexander

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Bucks News, Injuries, Front Page by alleyoop on Saturday 24 October 2009 at 6:57 am

The Bucks have lost small forward Joe Alexander for the next 8-12 weeks with a partially torn hamstring. This injury will hurt Alexander more than the Bucks as he was going to likely get a real chance to show what he can do this season. Hakim Warrick and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute will likely share the small forward job for the Bucks until Alexander is ready to return to action. How much he plays when he gets back will depend on how well the other guys play while he is out of action.
