The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Mike Dunleavy for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Need to step up by admin on Tuesday 10 January 2012 at 9:11 pm

The Milwaukee Bucks are going to be without 31-year old small forward Mike Dunleavy for the next two weeks due to a groin injury.  Dunleavy has played in 3 games (all starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 30.3 minutes, 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game.  But, he’s only shooting a woeful 32% from the floor so far this year.  The Bucks will turn to 29-year old Carlos Delfino at small forward for the next couple of weeks.  Delfino has now played in 6 games (5 starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 27.7 minutes, 8.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.  Delfino should be able to replace Dunleavy’s production pretty easily.

The Milwaukee Bucks shut down Jon Brockman

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Sunday 10 April 2011 at 10:18 pm

The Bucks have decided to shut down 23-year old power forward Jon Brockman for the rest of the year due to a separated shoulder.  He played in 63 games (6 starts) for the Bucks this year and he averaged 10.7 minutes, 2.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  Brockman shot 51.1% from the floor this year as most of his shots come from in tight near the basket.  Brockman plays hard every night and the Bucks like him despite him being buried on the depth chart.

The Milwaukee Bucks shut down Andrew Bogut

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Friday 8 April 2011 at 10:22 pm

The Bucks have decided to shut down 26-year old center Andrew Bogut as he needs elbow surgery.  Bogut played in 65 games (all starts) for the Bucks this year and he averaged 35.3 minutes, 12.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.6 blocked shots per game.  His only real weakness this year was his free throw shooting as he hit only 44.2% from the free throw line (96 of 217).  Drew Gooden, Ersan Ilyasova and Larry Sanders will all likely pick up more minutes to pick up the slack for the loss of Bogut.

The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Andrew Bogut for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Tuesday 1 March 2011 at 7:34 pm

The Bucks will be without starting center Andrew Bogut for at least a week due to a left rib cage injury.  Bogut has played in 49 games (all starts) for the Bucks this season and he is averaging 35.8 minutes, 12.6 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.8 blocked shots per game.  This is a huge blow to the Bucks as Bogut is the only player on the team that they can’t replace due to his rebounding and shot blocking.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose Drew Gooden for the next 4-6 weeks

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Thursday 3 February 2011 at 9:41 pm

The Bucks have shut down 29-year old power forward Drew Gooden for the next 4-6 weeks due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot.  Gooden has played in 25 games (15 starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 23.6 minutes, 10.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  The Bucks were smart to shut Gooden down now so that he might be healthy for a late push for the playoffs.  They have enough big guys to cover for Gooden while he is recovering.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose Brandon Jennings

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Need to step up by admin on Wednesday 22 December 2010 at 12:26 am

The Bucks will be without starting point guard Brandon Jennings for the next 4-6 weeks due to a broken left foot.  Jennings has played in 25 games (all starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 35.5 minutes, 17.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.  Jennings is only shooting 39.1% from the floor this year but the Bucks are still going to miss him because his backups aren’t that great.  Keyon Dooling will replace Jennings in the starting lineup until he returns to action.  Dooling has played in 26 games (2 starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 17.7 minutes, 5.5 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.2 assists per game.  Dooling is only shooting 35.4% from the floor this year and he’s a shoot first point guard.  Earl Boykins will likely move up the depth chart to backup Keyon Dooling.  Boykins has played in 16 games (0 starts) so far this year for the Bucks and he is averaging 10.6 minutes, 3.3 points, 0.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Chris Douglas-Roberts

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 26 October 2010 at 4:19 pm

The Bucks will be without backup PG/SG Chris Douglas-Roberts for the next month after undergoing eye surgery. This will hurt the Bucks a little bit as they were depending on him to give the bench some scoring punch. Keyon Dooling will back up Brandon Jennings at the point. Carlos Delfino will also likely get more P.T. then he was going to get with Douglas-Roberts out of action. The Bucks are in good shape without Douglas-Roberts but they still can’t wait for him to get back.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose Andrew Bogut for the season

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Monday 5 April 2010 at 7:44 am

The Bucks have lost starting center Andrew Bogut for the season due to a dislocated right elbow, a sprained wrist and a broken right hand. Bogut played in 69 games (all starts) for the Bucks this season and he averaged 32.3 minutes, 15.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.5 blocked shots. He also shot 52% from the floor this season for the Bucks. This is a huge blow to the Bucks as Bogut is the best player on the team. He is impossible to replace so any chance of the Bucks pulling an upset in the first round of the playoffs is likely gone now.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose Michael Redd for the year

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Monday 11 January 2010 at 6:20 pm

The Bucks have lost 30-year old shooting guard Michael Redd for the year due to a torn left ACL+MCL. Redd played in 18 games (12 starts) for the Bucks this season and he averaged 27.3 minutes, 11.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals. Redd never seemed really right this season as he only shot 35.2% form the floor this year. Redd’s career could be in jeopardy due to this injury and that is a shame because he is such a talented basketball player. Redd has played in 568 games (427 starts) so far in his NBA career and he is averaging 33.8 minutes, 20.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The bottom line is that the Bucks will miss Michael Redd a lot the rest of the year.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose Andrew Bogut for a while

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Friday 20 November 2009 at 4:28 pm

The Bucks will be without starting center Andrew Bogut for the next 2-4 weeks due to a strained left leg and a contusion. He has played in 9 games (all starts) for the Bucks so far this season and he has averaged 33.6 minutes, 16.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game. The Bucks will miss Bogut big time as he is the second best offensive player on the team right now with Michael Redd also hurting. Dan Gazduric will replace Bogut in the starting lineup. Gazduric has played in 9 games (0 starts) this season for the Bucks and he is averaging 9.8 minutes, 2.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. Kurt Thomas will also see a bump in playing time behind Gazduric. Thomas has played in 5 games (2 starts) so far this year for the Bucks and he is averaging 6.8 minutes, 1.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game this season. The Bucks had better hope that Bogut gets healthy soon or they are going to start losing a lot of basketball games.
