The Milwaukee Bucks lose Drew Gooden for the next 4-6 weeks

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Thursday 3 February 2011 at 9:41 pm

The Bucks have shut down 29-year old power forward Drew Gooden for the next 4-6 weeks due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot.  Gooden has played in 25 games (15 starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 23.6 minutes, 10.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  The Bucks were smart to shut Gooden down now so that he might be healthy for a late push for the playoffs.  They have enough big guys to cover for Gooden while he is recovering.

The Milwaukee Bucks release Brian Skinner

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by admin on Wednesday 5 January 2011 at 11:19 pm

The Milwaukee Bucks release 34-year old F/C Brian Skinner.  Skinner played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Bucks this year and he averaged 3.0 minutes per game.  Skinner didn’t score or get a rebound or assist with the Bucks this year.  The Bucks won’t miss Skinner too much as he was buried on the depth chart.

The Milwaukee Bucks lose Brandon Jennings

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Need to step up by admin on Wednesday 22 December 2010 at 12:26 am

The Bucks will be without starting point guard Brandon Jennings for the next 4-6 weeks due to a broken left foot.  Jennings has played in 25 games (all starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 35.5 minutes, 17.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.  Jennings is only shooting 39.1% from the floor this year but the Bucks are still going to miss him because his backups aren’t that great.  Keyon Dooling will replace Jennings in the starting lineup until he returns to action.  Dooling has played in 26 games (2 starts) for the Bucks so far this year and he is averaging 17.7 minutes, 5.5 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.2 assists per game.  Dooling is only shooting 35.4% from the floor this year and he’s a shoot first point guard.  Earl Boykins will likely move up the depth chart to backup Keyon Dooling.  Boykins has played in 16 games (0 starts) so far this year for the Bucks and he is averaging 10.6 minutes, 3.3 points, 0.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

The Milwaukee Bucks sign Brian Skinner

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by admin on Friday 3 December 2010 at 5:14 am

The Bucks have signed 34-year old power forward Brian Skinner.  Skinner played in 16 games (1 start) for the Clippers last season and he averaged 7.7 minutes, 1.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.  He has now played in 605 games (197 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 18.0 minutes, 4.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.  To make room on the roster for Skinner, the Bucks have released rookie forward Darington Hobson.  Hobson injured his hip prior to the summer league and he never got into a game with the Bucks.

The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Chris Douglas-Roberts

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 26 October 2010 at 4:19 pm

The Bucks will be without backup PG/SG Chris Douglas-Roberts for the next month after undergoing eye surgery. This will hurt the Bucks a little bit as they were depending on him to give the bench some scoring punch. Keyon Dooling will back up Brandon Jennings at the point. Carlos Delfino will also likely get more P.T. then he was going to get with Douglas-Roberts out of action. The Bucks are in good shape without Douglas-Roberts but they still can’t wait for him to get back.

The Milwaukee Bucks have released Brian Skinner

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by alleyoop on Tuesday 26 October 2010 at 4:13 pm

The Bucks have released veteran C/PF Brian Skinner. Skinner was just caught in a numbers game as the Bucks are loaded in the frontcourt. I think he will find a new job soon so I wouldn’t feel too sorry for him. In fact I look at this move as a big positive for the Bucks as it shows that they are very happy with the big guys they have ready to go this year.

The Milwaukee Bucks sign Brian Skinner

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by alleyoop on Thursday 30 September 2010 at 4:29 pm

The Bucks have signed 34-year old power forward Brian Skinner. Skinner played in 16 games (1 start) for the Clippers last season and he averaged 7.7 minutes, 1.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. He has now played in 605 games (197 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 18.0 minutes, 4.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Skinner will likely be sitting near the end of the bench but the man can still rebound and play defense so I like this signing for the Bucks.

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Earl Boykins

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by alleyoop on Friday 20 August 2010 at 3:05 pm

The Bucks have signed 34-year old point guard Earl Boykins to a 1-year, $1.3 million dollar deal. Boykins played in 67 games (1 start) for the Wizards last year and he averaged 16.7 minutes, 6.6 points, 1.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He has now played in 587 games (34 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 20.4 minutes, 9.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Boykins will battle Keyon Dooling for backup minutes behind Brandon Jennings. I like this signing for the Bucks as you can never have too many solid basketball players on the roster.

The Milwaukee Bucks sign Keyon Dooling

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by alleyoop on Tuesday 20 July 2010 at 7:53 am

The Bucks have signed 30-year old PG/SG Keyon Dooling to a 2-year, $4.1 million dollar deal. Dooling played in 53 games (8 starts) for the Nets last season and he averaged 18.3 minutes, 6.9 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.5 assists per game. He has now played in 595 games (62 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 19.6 minutes, 7.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. This was a solid signing for the Bucks as Dooling is a good bench guard.

The Milwaukee Bucks acquire Jon Brockman from the Kings

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by alleyoop on Tuesday 20 July 2010 at 7:50 am

The Bucks have acquired 23-year old power forward Jon Brockman from the Kings for 24-year old power forward Darnell Jackson and a future second round pick. Brockman played in 52 games (4 starts) as a rookie last year with the Kings and he averaged 12.6 minutes, 2.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Brockman is a very solid rebounder and the Bucks got him at a nice discount price. Jackson played in 28 games (0 starts) for the Bucks and Cavs last season and he averaged 4.4 minutes, 0.8 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game. This was a outstanding trade for the Bucks.
