31-year old small forward Corey Maggette is getting big minutes and he’s making them count lately for the Bucks.  In Maggette’s last five games, he is averaging 32.0 minutes, 17.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game on 50% shooting from the floor.  Maggette has now played in 39 games (8 starts) for the Bucks this year and he is averaging 22.1 minutes, 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.  The Bucks were dumb to cut Maggette’s minutes earlier this year as he is one of the best offensive  players on the team.

The Milwaukee Bucks sign Garrett Temple

Blogged under Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by admin on Wednesday 26 January 2011 at 12:05 am

The Bucks have signed 24-year old shooting guard Garrett Temple to a 10-day contract.  Temple played in 3 games (0 starts) earlier this year for the Spurs in which he averaged 7.0 minutes, 0.7 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  He has now played in 30 games (0 starts) in his first two years in the NBA and he is averaging 11.8 minutes, 4.6 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.  Temple isn’t shy about putting up shots and the Bucks need help at shooting guard right now, so I like this signing for the Bucks.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Tuesday 25 January 2011 at 10:04 pm

The Bucks held the Bulls to 39.5% shooting from the floor but it just wasn’t good enough to win in Chicago last night.  Chris Douglas-Roberts led the way for the Bucks last night with 30 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.  Ersan Ilyasova (17 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot) and Keyon Dooling (13 points, 3 rebounds, 10 assists and 1 steal)  also had solid games for the Bucks last night.  Andrew Bogut only shot 4 of 11 from the floor last night but he still finished up with 8 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocked shots.  The Bucks are now 16-26 on the year.

The Bucks only shot 37.8% from the floor and they were outrebounded 49-36 last night which did them in.  Earl Boykins led the way for the Bucks in this game with 23 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 1 blocked shot.  Andrew Bogut filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocked shots last night.  Larry Sanders and Corey Maggette pitched in with 12 points apiece in this game.  The Bucks are now 16-25 on the year.

Larry Sanders looks like a keeper for the Milwaukee Bucks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by admin on Wednesday 19 January 2011 at 2:50 pm

22-year old rookie forward Larry Sanders has made the most of his limited playing time so far this year.  Sanders has played in 26 games (8 starts) for the Bucks this year and he is averaging 14.7 minutes, 4.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game.  The one area that Sanders can improve on is his shooting as he has only made 40.7% of his shots from the floor and 56% of his shots from the free throw line.  I think when he starts getting more consistent playing time that his shooting will come around.
