The Milwaukee Bucks need to get Hakim Warrick more playing time

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin' Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 29 December 2009 at 10:51 am

The Milwaukee Bucks need to get forward Hakim Warrick on the court more, period. He has played in 29 games (6 starts) for the Bucks this season and he is averaging 22.0 minutes, 10.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. Warrick is good enough to start and personally I think he’s a much better basketball player than Carlos Delfino is.

San Antonio Spurs 112, Milwaukee Bucks 97

The Bucks got outrebounded 42-30 and they didn’t play any D as the Spurs shot 59.7% from the floor and it did them in. Hakim Warrick led the way for the Bucks last night with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Jodie Meeks came off the bench and scored 15 points in 28 minutes last night. Luke Ridnour pitched in with 13 points and 5 assists in 21 minutes last night. The Bucks are now 12-16 on the year.

Washington Wizards 109, Milwaukee Bucks 97

The Bucks only shot 35.6% from the floor last night and it doomed them against the Wizards. Michael Redd had by far his best game of the year for the Bucks with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Charlie Bell pitched in with 14 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals off the bench last night. Andrew Bogut had another decent game for the Bucks with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots. The Bucks are now 12-15 on the year.

Michael Redd is trying to shake off the rust for the Milwaukee Bucks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Tuesday 22 December 2009 at 9:28 am

Michael Redd has been the best offensive player on the Bucks for quite a few years now. But, he has been injured the last couple of years and the rust is showing so far this season . He has played in 10 games (4 starts) for the Bucks this season and he is averaging 27.4 minutes, 10.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Redd’s shooting has been was off so far this year as he is only shooting 34.8% from three point range, 30.6% from three point range and 54.5% from the free throw line. Redd is much better than that and if he and Andrew Bogut can just stay healthy the Bucks could be a surprise team the rest of the year.

Andrew Bogut is playing up to his ability so far this season for the Milwaukee Bucks

Andrew Bogut has been a good player in the NBA in his career but he has always been pretty injury prone. This season he started out gimpy but he has come on strong since getting back into the line-up. Bogut has played in 20 games (all starts) for the Bucks this season and he is averaging 33.9 minutes, 16.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per game. I know that many fans are going ga-ga over rookie Brandon Jennings but Bogut is the most important player on this team because you just can’t replace what he can do on a basketball court.

Milwaukee Bucks 84, Indiana Pacers 81

Andrew Bogut played great for the Milwaukee Bucks (12-14) last night, leading them to victory over the Indiana Pacers (9-17).  Bogut had a career-high 31 points and added 18 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal.  He hit 14-19 shots, but Bogut did get some help from his star rookie Brandon Jennings.  Jennings had a streaky night from the field, going 7-19, but he hit a clutch baseline jumper with 28 seconds left to put the Bucks up 5 and seal it.  Jennings finished with 16 points, 6 assists (2 TO), 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.  The Bucks played strong defense, holding the Pacers to 36% from the field.  The Bucks hit only 42%, so they needed a strong defensive effort.  Roy Hibbert led the Pacers with 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Sacramento Kings 96, Milwaukee Bucks 95

The Bucks just didn’t have enough to pull this game out last night. Carlos Delfino led the way for the Bucks last night with 17 points and 4 rebounds. Andrew Bogut also had a solid line last night with 15 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocked shots. Brandon Jennings finished up with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists on 4 of 11 shooting from the floor. This is another game the Bucks would have won if Jennings passed up heaving up a brick and passed the ball to a teammate instead. The Bucks are now 11-14 on the year.

Cleveland Cavaliers 85, Milwaukee Bucks 82

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Saturday 19 December 2009 at 12:13 am

The Bucks played hard tonight but they only shot 36.4% from the floor and it is hard to win that way. Ersan Ilyasova led the way for the Bucks tonight with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. Brandon Jennings was heaving up a lot of bricks as he was 5 of 21 shooting from the floor but he still finished up with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals. Charlie Bell pitched in with 16 points in 32 minutes off the bench. The Bucks are now 11-13 on the year.

Milwaukee Bucks 106, Los Angeles Lakers 107 OT

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Bloglockers,Game Recaps,General by Andrew on Thursday 17 December 2009 at 6:51 pm

The Milwaukee Bucks (11-12) could not contain Los Angeles Lakers’ (20-4) star Kobe Bryant, and he beat the buzzer in OT with a game-winning fadeaway.  The Bucks were able to stop Kobe from hitting nearly an identical shot at the end of regulation, but they should not have given him the same opportunity in overtime.  Kobe dropped 39 points on them and they couldn’t keep Pau Gasol off the glass.  Gasol had 22 rebounds along with 26 points, helping the Lakers out-rebound the Bucks 47-38.  Ersan Ilyasova led the Bucks with 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Brandon Jennings had a bad game in his first outing against Kobe and the Lakers.  He hit only 4-11 shots, finishing with 11 points, 7 assists, and 3 rebounds.  Michael Redd had a nice game off the bench and is looking healthy again.  He had 25 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.  It looks like its about time to put Redd back in the starting line-up.

Luke Ridnour is providing firepower off the bench for the Milwaukee Bucks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin' Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 15 December 2009 at 4:56 pm

Back-up guard Luke Ridnour is providing a lot of offensive punch off the bench for the Bucks this season. Ridnour has played in 22 games (0 starts) for the Bucks this season and he is averaging 23.8 minutes, 11.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. He is also shooting a stunning 51.8% from the floor this year. He will continue to get big minutes off the bench if he keeps playing like he is right now as he has been a huge asset to the Bucks.
