The Milwaukee Bucks bench has a veteran twinge to it
The Bucks have a much more experienced bench than last season and that should help them big-time this season. Swingman Charlie Bell was re-signed against his wishes as he wanted to play for the Heat. It will be interesting to see if he remains focused and productive as he’s one of the best 6th men in the NBA. Bell played in 82 games (64 starts) last season and he averaged 28.2 minutes, 13.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Charlie Villanueva will need to stay healthy and live up to his potential or the trade of T.J. Ford for him will continue to look bad. Villanueva played in 39 games (17 starts) last season for the Bucks and he averaged 25.2 minutes, 11.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. Small forward Bobby Simmons missed all of last season with a severe foot injury but the Bucks feel he will help them off of the bench. Simmons has played in 272 games in his NBA career (161 starts) and he has averaged 27.3 minutes, 10.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Jake Voskuhl was signed to battle Dan Gadzuric for the backup center job. Voskuhl played in 73 games (9 starts) last season with the Bobcats and he averaged 14.3 minutes, 4.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. Gadzuric played in 54 games (8 starts) last season for the Bucks and he averaged 15.6 minutes, 4.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Royal Ivey will be the backup point guard this season for the Bucks. He played in 53 games (18 starts) last season for the Hawks and he averaged 10.2 minutes, 3.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.8 assists per game.
