Earl Boykins to opt out of his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks
Earl Boykins has decided to opt out of his contract with the Bucks to become an unrestricted free agent next week. This will hurt the Bucks a little bit as Boykins played very well after he was acquired from the Denver Nuggets for Steve Blake last season. Boykins played in 35 games (19 starts) for the Bucks last season and he averaged 14.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He also shot the ball pretty well for the Bucks as he hit 42.7% from the floor, 41.9% from three point range and 88.6% from three point range.
Boykins has made a nice little career for himself after bouncing around a while before some one gave him a chance because of his size. Boykins has played in 484 NBA games (33 starts) and he’s averaged 21.3 minutes, 9.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He also has been a decent shooter over his career as he’s hit 41.7% from the floor, 35% from three point range and 88.1% from the free throw line.
