Bucks awful last night in 99-72 loss to the Sonics in Seattle

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Saturday 20 January 2007 at 11:23 am

The Bucks were horrible in the first half as the Sonics led 51-29 at the break! The Bucks never had a chance in this game as they only hit 33% from the floor and were outrebounded 53-40, which was a recipe for disaster. Ruben Patterson led the Bucks with 16 points. Andrew Bogut had a decent all-around game with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.

The Bucks fell to 17-22 on the season with this loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270119025

Poor 4th quarter costs the Bucks in 99-90 loss to the Bulls in Milwaukee

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Thursday 18 January 2007 at 3:34 pm

The Bucks were outscored 32-17 in the 4th quarter and that did them in last night. It also didn’t help that the Bucks only shot 38.5% from the floor. Rookie Ersan Ilyasova had a great game off the bench with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Earl Boykins was heaving up alot of bricks (4 of 17 from the floor) but he still wound up with 17 points and 5 assists. Ruben Patterson also had a rough shooting night (4 of 13) but he still scored 15 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.

The Bucks played great defense as they held the Bobcats to 39.5% shooting from the floor yesterday. Earl Boykins had a great game with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Andrew Bogut stepped his game up again with 27 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 blocked shots.

The Bucks improved to 17-20 on the season with this win. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270115030

Bucks need more from Skinner

Blogged under Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Monday 15 January 2007 at 9:58 pm

The Bucks need more scoring out of power forward Brian Skinner as he’s been replacing offensive minded power forward Charlie Villanueva. Skinner has played in 32 games and has averaged 18.5 minutes, 4.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 1.0 blocks per game this season. Skinner has hit 50.9% of his shots from the floor but most of them are putbacks or dunks. He also needs to do better from the free-throw line as he’s hitting only 66.7% of his attempts. The Bucks could use more scoring out of Skinnner because of the massive injuries that have hurt them.

Poor second half dooms Bucks in 110-97 loss to 76ers in Philadelphia

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 13 January 2007 at 12:03 pm

The Bucks were outscored 64-43 in the second half and that doomed them in this basketball game. Charlie Bell led the way for the Bucks with 26 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Andrew Bogut had a monster game with 20 points and 24 rebounds. Earl Boykins had a decent first game with the Bucks as he scored 11 points and dished out 11 assists.

Mo Williams out 2-3 weeks with injured shoulder

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Front Page,Injuries by Nothing but Net on Thursday 11 January 2007 at 2:50 pm

Maurice Williams will be out 2-3 weeks with a sprained shoulder. The Bucks were very fortunate because this injury looked much worse when it occurred. Williams will be missed as he had been averaging 35.5 minutes, 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The acquisition of Earl Boykins will soften the blow a little bit, but the Bucks are now without their top 3 players (Williams, Redd and Villanueva) and no team could survive that.

Bucks acquire Earl Boykins and Julius Hodge from the Nuggets for Steve Blake

Blogged under Big Bucks News,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 11 January 2007 at 2:45 pm

This was a absolutely fantastic trade for the Bucks. Steve Blake is nothing more than a back-up player, but Earl Boykins is a player. Boykins was averaging 28.3 minutes, 15.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game for the Nuggets this season. He will provide offensive firepower until Michael Redd and Maurice Williams return from their injuries. Also keep an eye on Julius Hodge who was a first round pick of the Nuggets a couple of seasons ago. He could excel in his new environment.

Stripped down Bucks get thumped 90-77 by the Raptors in Milwaukee

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 11 January 2007 at 12:49 pm

The Bucks hit the boards hard as they outrebounded the Raptors 45-34, but they didn’t put up enough points to win the game. Andrew Bogut had a monster game with 17 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Ruben Patterson pitched in with 17 points.

Injuries crippling the Bucks this season

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at 10:22 pm

The Bucks are currently 16-18 on the season which is last in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference. They are 5.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers and are currently the #8 seed if the playoffs were to start today. The major problem for the Bucks other than injuries has been their poor rebounding as they only get 47.6% of the rebounds in a game on average which is 28th in the NBA. The loss of Michael Redd for 4-6 weeks will cripple this team as he’s averaged 27.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game this season. The Bucks have also been without Charlie Villanueva for awhile now and he was averaging 12.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Hopefully Mo Williams’ shoulder injury isn’t too bad because if the Bucks lose him too they might as well just get ready for the Draft Lottery. Williams is averaging 17.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The Bucks really need Ruben Patterson (13.2 points), Andrew Bogut (11.8 points) and Charlie Bell (11.3 points) to step up their games on offense to make up for the losses of Redd & Villanueva.

Cold shooting Bucks lose to Nuggets in Denver

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 9 January 2007 at 12:15 am

The Bucks only shot 38.5% from the floor as a team and couldn’t recover from that in this game. Ruben Patterson led the way for the Bucks with 29 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Rookie Ersan Ilyasova added 15 points off the bench.
