Bucks not getting much from rookie class

Blogged under Front Page,Rookie Reports by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 11:35 pm

The Bucks incoming class isn’t looking too good. Ersan Ilyasova has played the most as he has played in 17 games and has averaged 13.0 minutes, 4.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.6 assists. His main problem has been his shooting as he is only hitting 28.9% of his shots from the floor.

David Noel hasn’t played much as he has appeared in 13 games and has averaged 9.5 minutes, 2.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game so far this season. He’s been an active defender when on the court.

Damir Markota has only played in 7 games and has averaged 2.7 minutes, 1.0 point, 0.3 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game so far this season.Â

Chris McCray has played in 3 games and his only stat is that he has played 5 minutes. Lynn Greer has yet to play this season.

It doesn’t look like the Bucks have a bumper crop of rookies.

Bobby Simmons out for the season

Blogged under Front Page,Injuries by Nothing but Net on Monday 11 December 2006 at 11:08 pm

This is a huge blow to the Bucks as they were depending on Simmons to start for them this season. Simmons will have two surgeries on his right foot to correct a heel problem.

Bucks can’t hang with Jazz and lose 101-88

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 5 December 2006 at 10:09 pm

The Bucks played awful against the Jazz and the final score was not indicative of the beating the Jazz applied last night. The Bucks only shot 38.1% from the floor and allowed the Jazz to hit 50.6% of their shots. The Bucks also were out-rebounded 48-34.

Charlie Bell led the Bucks in scoring with 23 points on the night. Michael Redd had an off-night for himself with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Maurice Williams doing a good job directing offense

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin' Up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 5 December 2006 at 4:20 pm

When the Bucks decided to trade T.J. Ford for Charlie Villanueva, they were taking a chance because Mo Williams had never really been a full-time starter. Maurice Williams has proved more than capable and he’s playing the best basketball of his career. Williams is averaging 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game so far this season. The Bucks need Williams to maintain this level of play the whole season if they are going to make the playoffs.

The Bucks needed Sunday off after all the running they did on Friday and Saturday. The Bucks now sit at 6-10 on the season.
